9/10/2023 0 Comments Iberostar paraiso maya nightlifeWe were in the pool until dark some nights. I'm always cold and I never had to wear long sleeves at night. There are tons of palapas and chairs out there and the pool. it's because the hurricanes washed away a lot of sand. There are rocks that I hit with my shins as well. (Make reservations for restaurants early) BEACH: is nice, don't expect Daytona long stretches. the Guacamole at the buffet by the pool is good, add some spicy salsa to make it even better. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Had rack of lamb, grouper and we split the veal as well (to taste-hey it's all inclusive) ITALIAN- I had ravioli, it was good. But there are about 100 Mexicans waiting in line for their jobs. I'll tell you right now, if I worked their hours plus made as little as they do. We never had bad service the entire time. We tipped the guy 20 bucks and you would have thought it was 100. GOURMET: It was my hubby's b'day and they went overboard! We had champagne, they sang and made up some chocolate cake concoction. if you snorkel, skip XCARET and go to XEL-HA. (it was from Xcaret-not the hotel) I would not eat at Xcaret. I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't coming down with food poisoning. No the cheese isn't the quality the Ritz would serve. FONDUE: went twice, the first time we ate so much meat and cheese we couldn't fit the chocolate/fruit in. Cajun: didn't think I would like: IT WAS AWESOME. I usually don't eat donuts but they made them fresh with freshly melted chocolate at breakfast. The red and white wine tastes about the same quality as a 7 dollar bottle of wine. Premium drinks are available at lobby bar. Juan will squirt a tequila concoction in your mouth if you want. No the drinks aren't strong at the pool bar. Huge middle pool with two story swim up pool bar (ice cream shop on top). the pools here are AMAZING!! Big huge adult only pool. these energetic people work 6 days a week from 9:30am-1:30am!!! We've been to other all-inclusives. There are activities with the STar Friends everyday. No they don't serve Corona on the premises. We did tip our maid a few bucks every day and she kept us clean and mini bar stocked. Tile floors-you wouldn't want carpet with sand, etc. you can order mimosa, champagne, whatever. but we were tired so took a nap and ate at the lunch buffet near lobby. When we arrived at the Lindo we were relieved. We stopped to drop off people at Moon Palace and El Dorado Royale. We were on the third floor (no elevators-thank god 'cause I needed to work off all the food I ate.) After arriving at the airport we took a shuttle to the hotel. So we decided at the last minute to go to Mexico. Our original trip to S.Carolina was cancelled due to a hurricane in Sept. The fee I paid is for resort guests and I believe the outside rate is much higher. My husband and I have no kids we are 32 and 37. We played early, so he wasn't necessary to us. The food and drink on the course are free and the driver came by at least 3-4 times per round. Not a tremendous amount of roll on the course, and it seemed every time I got roll, it was into a bunker. I played from 6100 yards, which was plenty. Make sure to ask for the course map (which is free). I had the feeling that if I played it more often, I would get a better feel quickly for the clubs necessary to get the right distance. Even though it is at an oceanfront resort, the course is actually across the highway and has no ocean view. Lots of undulations and a few blind shots. The course is immaculate and entertainingly interesting. My partner the second time plays this course a few times every year and said that they tend to push players out shotgun at random and that can slow things down, but didn't impact us. Teed off in a twosome (that they arranged for me) at 8AM and finished in under 3.5 hours both times. Obviously, this isn't peak resort season (just after New Year) and the course was pretty much empty both days. I played this course twice while staying at the resort this past week.
